Opinion differs as to a Roman or Norman introduction but regardless he has become part of the countryside. In recent years numbers have dropped significantly due to the virus’s of RVHD 1 and RVHD 2 it’s variant. The myxomatosis disease introduced in the 1950’s still kills them but they can recover sometimes.

Usually an agricultural pest but sometimes a problem in large gardens, there are many methods of control available to the professional. Rabbit ‘fencing’ is usually fine for a period of time but at some point in time will be breached.
